Hello Friends!
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been part of this community for the past eight years. When we started Next Opportunity Events in 2015 we never expected the business would grow to such heights. Nor did expect that we would make so many close friends and meet so many amazing and inspiring individuals.
We write to you today to inform you of some upcoming changes to Next Opportunity Events, the business and our races. While we were fortunate to carry an event business through the COVID-19 pandemic and keep the business functioning, the pandemic did give us a lot to think about in terms of what we want for ourselves in the coming years. As a result, we have decided to sell the majority of our event portfolio to new management and take a step back from event management.
What happens now?
Within the next few days, you will see our respective social media feeds transition to RAD Ultras. If you wish to continue to follow us on social media you can find us on Facebook

What does this mean for the races?
Through the course of our time in the event business, we've been fortunate to partner with some great organizations along the way. One of those organizations is RAD Ultras, LLC. RAD is a new organization led by some very experienced trail runners and event promoters. RAD Ultras, LLC is now the sole owner of the Bluegrass Ultra Trail Race, the Big Turtle Trail Runs, the War Hammer 100, Breaks Ultra, Cave Run Lake Trail Fest, and the Red River Gorge Ultra. We are excited about what the future holds for these races under RAD's management, and we ask each of you to continue to support these great races as RAD continues their respective legacies.
What does this mean for Next Opportunity Events?
Next Opportunity Events was started and operated from day one as a partnership between both of us: Brandy and Mike. As we pursue new our individual Next Opportunities, Brandy will continue to operate Next Opportunity Events as the business vehicle for the Bluegrass Reaper Challenge in Berea, Kentucky. Mike will be stepping down as an event organizer to pursue other personal and professional interests.
You heard that right! NOE will continue on, and we look forward to seeing you at the Bluegrass Reaper Challenge this summer. Event details are coming soon as we work through getting venue and date approvals for the race.
